Sexually-Transmitted Infections (STI)
Sexually-transmitted infections are caused by germs which are spread by sexual
contact. Some important facts about these diseases are:

1.They occur in both men and women.
2.The effects of the infection are commonly seen in women because of the
structure of their reproductive system.
3. It is more common in young people between the ages 20-29 years.
4. It occurs in men who have sexual contact with sex workers.
5. Women usually get the infection from the husband.
6.It occurs in those who have multiple sex partners.

common STDs

1.chlamydia
(a).symptoms
some people show no symptoms ,especially women.others have a discharge from the genitals, painful
urination and severe abdominal pain.
(b).treatment or cure
chlamydia can be cured with antibiotics taken by mouth.
(c).long term consequences
sterility and liver infection can result from chlamydial infections.

2.Human papilomavirus
(a).
some people show no symptoms;others have warts on the genital area, and women have an abnormal pop smear test.
(b). 
HPV can be treated but not cured. sometimes warts can be removed papsmear test help to identify precancerous conditions. 
(c). if left untreated cervical cancer can occur in women.
3.Genital herpes
a).herpes causes outbreks of painful blisters or sores around the genital area that recur swelling in the genital area and burning during urination.
b).herpes cannot be cured Treatement with antiviral medication can decrease the lenght and frequency or outbreaks and can decrease the spread of herpes.
c).if left untreated herpes cancer in women. Herpes can cause deformities in unbroun babies.
4.Gonorrhea
a). some people show no symptoms. other people show have discharge from the gnitals painful urination and severe abdominal pain.
b).Gonorrhea can be cured with antibiotics although a new strain of bacteria has shown resistance to antibiotics.
c). Sterility liver disease testicular disease can result from gonorrheal infections in no treated.
5. sysphilis 
a). symptoms, if present are sores fever body  with antibiotics rash swollen lymph nodes.
b). syphilis can be cured with antibiotics.
c). if left untreated mental illness heart and kidney damage, and death can result.
6.Trichomoniasis
a).symptoms include itching , discharge from the genitals and painful urination.
b).Trichomoniasis can be cured with medication.
c). Trichomoniasis has been linked to an increased risk of infection by HIV.
6. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease(PID)
a). dull  pain or tenderness in the stomach Pain during sex Painful urination, chills or high fever,coverage of likely nausea and vomiting, pathogens. pain during sex.
b). PID treatment regimens must provide empiric  broad spectrum coverage of likely pathogens.
c). Infertility, ectopic pregnancy and chronic pelvic pain.
7.Viral hepatitis 
a). fatigue Excessive tiredness lack of appetite Nausea or vomiting diarrhea a low grade fever
b).Depending on  cirrhosis and liver type and severity of cancer. the disease.
8.Bacterial vaginosis(BV)
a). It has no symptoms.
b).Antibiotic pills vaginal creams or suppository.
c). Having IBV can increase a woman's susceptibility to other STDs.
8.Crabs of pubic Lice
a). itchy skin inflammation of the affected area, sometimes visible lice and egges spots of blood as lice feed from blood vessels in the skin.
b). Treatment consists of it has no long term special shampos effects lotions and creams that kill the lice and their eggs.
9.Genital warts 
a). they are unlikely to cause pain but may itch and can be difficult to spot.
b). Take the necessary precautions to prevent truma to the area which can result in bleeding.
Be careful to prevent transmission to a sexual partner.
c). Embarrassing condition and once you are infected you will carry the virus that causes them for life .Because it cannot be killed or curred.
10.Molluscum contagiosum
a).The MC rash initially appears as smooth pearly to flesh calared dome shaped papules.
b).Treatment for molluscum contagiousum is not always maindatory.the lesions aften disappear by themselves and heal without scarring unless infected by bacteria.
c). Molluscum contagiosum can lead to bacterial skin infections A persons who has AIDS tends to develop 
extensive lesions over the face and neck as well as the genital area.
