1.Community members should listen to the radio and TV to learn if
there is a tsunami warning when an earthquake occurs in or near a
coastal area.
2.They should move inland to higher ground immediately and stay
there.
3. If there is noticeable recession in water away from the shoreline, this
is nature’s tsunami warning and should be heeded. Members should
move away immediately.
4. It is wise to stay away from flooded and damaged areas until officials
say it is safe to return. Debris in the water can be a safety hazard to boats and
people.
