here we describe how to make good puranpoli.
Pepration time:20 minutes
Making time: 25 minutes
Makes: 7-8 puranpolis
Ingredients:
Channa or yellowgram dal 300gms.
Jaggery or molasses 300 gms.
Cardamom powder 1 tsp.
Plain flour 150 gms.
Ghee 1 tbsp.
Warm water to a knead dough
Ghee to Serve
Making Method
Boil dal in plenty of water till soft.exit extra water.Heat a pan over medium flame and add cooked dal jaggery and ghee in it and mix well.
cook for 3 to 5 minutes or more and add cardamom powder and mix well.
stir continuously, so as not to charr. Keep aside.
Mix ghee, flour, add enough water to make a soft dough.
Make a morsel sized ball of dough, roll into a 5" round.
Place same sized ball of filling with in centre and all round and seal.
Reroll it carefully to a 6" diameter round.
Roast on warm griddle till golden brown both side.
Serve in plate. Apply with a tsp. of ghee all over top.
